Potato ricer is from the 1940’s. Blue potato ricers from this vintage are a little more rare to find vs. the more common red and green ones. Manufactured by Handy Things in Ludington, Michigan. The Handy Things name and logo are on the top of the potato ricer press. Basket is removeable for cleaning, and appears to be aluminum, and has a few very minor dents. The basket will raise some when the top handle is raised. Some of the paint on the handles has rubbed off through the years of use. The handles and ring are metal, the press appears to be stainless steel. There is a bit of rust but not much. This item is functional, but would be best as a decorative object for ones kitchen. This ricer is lovingly used. It belonged to my mom. I remember her using it numerous times through the years. Not only did she rice potatoes, but also pressed pomegranate seeds for their juice….very messy, and other foods. Non-smoker’s home. Original Owner’s Daughter. Measurements: (Note: All measurements are approximate). Basket: H: 3-1/4″W: 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″Shape: Round Handles & Ring:L: 11:H: 2-1/4″ (when closed)
