clean, sturdy with smooth finish for easy cleaning. Height including metal hanger is 10.5 inches.Base is 2.5 inches in diameter.Handpainted by previous owner, with 3 blue flower motifs.Also has hanging hardware for kitchen display or simply stand on a shelf. Previous owners: an elderly German man and woman who were our neighbors for ten years (1991 – 2001).He was a DIY carpenter and woodworker, and she a decorative painter, and both were avid flower gardeners.Neither were over 5 feet in height, so he made a very small dining table and chairs and she painted them with flowers.Even the kitchen cabinets he made were floral works painted by her. My guess is he made the potato-masher for her and she painted on the blue flowers for him. That is what I like to believe.
